As Vice President of Leadership for the Alpha Zeta Kappa Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, I took a hands-on approach to leading impactful initiatives that advanced the chapter’s mission. One of my key responsibilities was leading a team of five members for the Honors in Action project, where we researched the topic of misinformation and disinformation about community colleges in the U.S. This project culminated in presentations to three high schools in the Delaware area, sparking meaningful discussions on the importance of accurate information in higher education and empowering students to think critically about media sources.
In addition to Honors in Action, I collaborated closely with the executive board to develop and implement the College Project, which focused on fostering a sense of belonging on campus. Together, we created interactive art murals that provided students with an opportunity to contribute to the campus environment while expressing their individuality. This project played a crucial role in strengthening the chapter’s community engagement efforts and was a key factor in our recognition as a 5-star chapter by Phi Theta Kappa.
Beyond these projects, I actively volunteered at various Phi Theta Kappa events, including hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive, organizing informational sessions for prospective members, and representing the chapter at club involvement fairs. These experiences allowed me to not only contribute to the chapter’s success but also to connect with fellow students and help promote the values of Phi Theta Kappa on campus.
